I hate paperwork – especially tracking bills and costs and doing projections. I’d rather have 3 root canals and a lobotomy… So why do I spend longer than 15 minutes on my open enrollment?
- I like to keep my money
- I wan t to protect myself and my family from whatever crazy changes my corporation has decided to implement to lower its costs
- I want the best medical care I can get for the money that I’m spending
So, I spend a little longer on my open enrollment planning because it is the number one place I make decisions that drive my healthcare services and costs for an entire YEAR! And I know that my decisions affect what options my company will consider next year…
Warning… Shameless plug… The good news is that you can do-it-yourself, come to a workshop and we’ll help you do-it-yourself, or you can pack all your documentation into a bag, shopping cart, suitcase or whatever else you’ve dumped it in and bring it to us. We’ll do all the forecasts and projections and present you with options. {Did I mention that we built this business cause we HATE doing paperwork!… we figure you do, too. So, we went out and hired the best paperwork-loving people we could find so they can take care of it for all of us..}
All that will be left to do in the decision-making…. The part about what money to keep and where.
So, yep. I plan my open enrollment…. I let the bookkeepers handle the rough stuff and I provide the decision stuff… between us, we save some money, protect my family, AND we are changing the healthcare system…
